SL-E-0002
Overview
Originally published in 1973, this document was published as a tailoring of MIL-STD-461A to define the electromagnetic requirements for equipment that would be used on the space shuttle. As such, it is not really a complete document on its own, but rather a companion document to 461A.
The A-revision of this document was published in September of 1974 and the B-version in May of 1987. Changes between the initial publication and the A-version are subtle and the B-version dealt primarily with defining the areas in which non-compliance might be acceptable and deviation or waivers might be obtained.

The only new test introduced in this standard was the time domain transient and ripple test, (TT01), which became the CE07 test in later revisions of 461. In order to do this test, one had to build a network which simulated the bus impedance that the component’s power input would “see” when installed on the shuttle.
Three tests were eliminated as requirements, and the limits for both emissions and susceptibility tests were modified. Broadband emission requirements were deleted for CE01, 02 03 and 04, however, no specifications on measurement bandwidth were given. (This was done in a later document.)
Finally, the RS03 requirement was tailored to account for the fields generated by the transmitters on-board the shuttle. They also took into account where the equipment under test would be in relation to those transmitters. The table below lists the requirements of SL-E-0002

EMC Integrity generates a detailed quotation for all formal compliance testing that we perform. Our quotations state the name of the product to be tested, the standards to which the product will be tested, the individual tests that will be performed and any additional testing that may be requested by the client. Tests are listed on a line-item basis, thus clearly delineating both the scope of work and the cost of each test. An outline of our process is given below.
