EMC Design Consulting

In addition to quality test services, EMCI provides expert design consulting.  Our skills range from up-front design consultation to cost-effective design retrofit.

EMCI has provided design services for a wide variety of products in the United States, United Kigdom, Taiwan, Canada and other areas. Examples of product types for which we have provided EMC solutions include:

EMCI has the ability to design for a broad range of EMC environments.  We routinely solve radiated and conducted emission problems for clients.  EMC immunity problems that for which we have successfully implemented solutions include electrostatic discharge, radiated susceptibility (electric and magnetic field) and conducted susceptibility (inductive and capacitive).  We have provided both up-front design and design retrofit for products to be used in medical, residential, commercial, industrial and space environments.

EMCI provided the EMC design support for the Coriolis spacecraft, which is the bus for the WindSat satellite.  The scope of this contract includes everything from the kick-off meeting through final bus-level testing and the duration of the contract was 2.5 years.  EMCI’s design expertise enabled the satellite to meet very stringent modified 461D requirements for both emissions and susceptibility.  The WindSat satellite was a product of the Naval Research Lab, and successfully launched in January of 2003.
